Aster Callistephus makes a great cut flower with long, strong stems and a long vase-life. Aster Gremlin Double Dark Rose Callistephus Chinensis is a tall, flowering annual plant. This variety of China Aster is also called Tiger Paw Aster for its flowers with curved petals that look like a tiger's paw. Aster Gremlin is easy to start from seeds, and once established, this China Aster features medium-green foliage with oval-shaped leaves and produces large, double, dark-rose flowers.

The fragrant flowers begin to appear in summer, and blooms non-stop until first frost attracting butterflies and bees. Aster Gremlin Dark Rose is a fantastic flower for cutting gardens, borders, flower beds, containers, and mass plantings. Callistephus Chinensis grows best in full or partial shade and thrives in rich, moist, but well drained soil resisting drought and heat. Tiger Paw Aster makes an excellent cut flower with a long vase life.

Growing Aster Callistephus: Sow Aster seeds indoors in the spring. Press the flower seeds into the soil and lightly cover them. Transplant Aster plants outside once frost danger has passed. They prefer well-drained soil and a full sun to partial shade position.
