Nebulous (Cloud Grass) is a species of bentgrass, forms a hazy mist in late summer when its delicate, tiny flowers spread out in all directions. This plant is often cultivated for its light delicate heads that are used dried in floristry. The airy seed-heads resemble clouds or sea foam which make a great addition to any flower garden. The ornamental grass has its best display when next to course textured plants or along fence lines. When Cloud Grass is fully mature, it reaches approximately 18 inches tall & 12 inches wide blooming all summer long. Although native to Portugal & Spain, but will grow in the U.S. It is an annual ornamental grass in USDA Zones 3 - 10 . The flowers are great for fresh or dried bouquet and will turn tan as the seed-heads head in to Fall. This grass can be direct sown in early spring, any time after the last frost date. In mid-summer, flower spikes emerge to a height of 18 inches(45 Cm), with panicles of tiny, cream coloured flowers. The look is diaphanous and airy, and each plant fills in a large volume of garden space. These flower spikes look gorgeous in cut flower arrangements, and they dry particularly well for fall and winter bouquets. This clump forming annual will thrive in sun or partial shade, and it looks sensational in large planting xeriscape systems. Mix it with rocks and taller grasses for a drought-tolerant, wild look. Or plant in larger containers for a striking accent on the patio. In the right setting, this grass will self sow, but it will never become weedy or invasive.
