Description:

Rivoli radish is an AAS award winner that is prized for its uniformity of colour, size, and growth rate. The roots are evenly coloured bright red all over and very round. The smooth, dense flesh is crisp with a notably bright flavour. Harvest the roots when they are 4cm (1½") in diameter, or let them grow a bit bigger - they won't become woody. The upright, healthy looking leaves make the bunched radishes highly marketable for growers. For home gardeners, this radish works in larger patio containers, raised beds, or right in the vegetable row. High uniformity Bright red all over AAS award winner Matures in 30 days

Growing: Grow early varieties in a sunny site as soon as the ground is workable in the spring. Winter radishes are generally sown in mid-summer. Sow seed every two weeks 12 mm (1/2″) deep and about 2.5 cm (1″) apart in rows about 30 cm (12″) apart. Keep soil evenly moist during germination and growth. Harvest in 3-4 weeks when the roots have reached the size of a large marble. One packet sows approximately 6 m (20’) of row. Maturity: 25-35 days Germination: 7-14 Sow March - May; or July - September Harvesting: April - June; August - September Sow seeds very thinly 1cm (0.5in) deep in drills 15cm (6in) apart. Thin out seedlings to 3-5cm (1 to 2in) apart.
